The opening video aired with an "800th episode celebration" graphic at the end. Fireworks lit up the stage; Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcomed us to the show. King plugged DX vs. Miz and Morrison. Cole promoted tonight's main event of Batista vs. Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship. They showed the steel cage hanging above the ring.
Randy Orton's music hit and he came out to the ring. He reminded us of the ultimatum he gave to Shane and Stephanie McMahon. He said he would wait there until the issue was addressed. He sat down at ringside. Jeff Hardy's music hit and he came out with Matt Hardy. Footage was shown of Jeff hitting a Swanton Bomb on Randy Orton from the scaffolding in episode 764.
1. Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy defeated MVP and The Brian Kendrick (with Ezekiel Jackson) in 4:13. Jeff and then Matt worked on MVP. They hit the Poetry in Motion for the first nearfall. Hardy missed the delayed corner dropkick which allowed Kendrick to tag in and gain the advantage.
Hardy and MVP tagged in at the same time. Hardy hit a series of moves before they hit a double closeline. Kendrick tagged in but the referee did not see it. The Hardys used the distraction to hit the Twist of Fate/Swanton combination on MVP for the win.
Footage was shown of the first episode of Monday Night Raw. Sean Mooney and Bobby Heenan were shown. Shawn Michaels was on that first show as well. Vince let Randy Savage's voice go on the air.

Footage was shown of The 1-2-3 Kid (X-Pac) defeating Razor Ramon in episode 17.
2. William Regal won a battle royal that included Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Jamie Noble, Manu, Snitsky, JTG, and Shad in to win an Intercontinental Championship Match in 3:25. Rhodes and Manu eliminated Snitsky. DiBiase eliminated Rhodes and Manu to their dismay. Noble and Regal went. DiBiase and Shad were the last two. DiBiase eliminated Shad but Regal, who really was not gone yet, won the match by eliminating DiBiase from behind.
Cole informed Santino he would be defending the title against William Regal in Manchester, England next week.
Backstage, Shane and Steph emerged from a limousine. Stephanie told Shane to handle things. Shane said he had it covered.

Footage was shown of episode 409, when Shane McMahon bought WCW from underneath the nose of Vince McMahon.
Randy Orton entered the ring and called out Shane McMahon. Shane came out to address Orton. Mike Adamle came out and said he wanted to be the first neutral general manager. Adamle said he was not "going to let it happen to him," meaning he did not want to get fired. He started to get teary-eyed. Adamle resigned, thanked Shane, and left the ring.
Orton said Adamle owed him an apology. Shane stepped in and said it was the other way around. Shane informed us that Orton's doctor cleared him to work weeks ago. Orton said he meant to tell people that but had not gotten around to it yet. Shane booked Orton in a match tonight against C.M. Punk.

Footage was shown of John McCain and Barack Obama (the real ones) appearing on Raw.
Vladimir Kozlov came out to the ring. Bret Hart's music hit and Charlie Haas came out dressed as Hart.
3. Vladimir Kozlov defeated Bret "The Hitman" Haas in :23. Complete squash. Kozlov won with the battering ram.
The two big matches tonight were plugged. Batista will have something to say after the commercial.

Footage aired of Batista winning the World Title from Chris Jericho and celebrating with Steve Austin.
Todd Grisham interviewed Batista backstage. Big Dave said he was not ready to give the title up yet. Tonight, there would be no excuses because of the steel cage stipulation.
Classic footage was shown from episode 257, where DX invaded an episode of WCW Nitro. Triple H and Shawn Michaels made their way through the backstage area.

Footage was shown of Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 with DX defeating Miz and Morrison.
DX came out to extensive pyro. Eventually, the music stopped.
Triple H said it had been so long, they forgot they had pyro. Triple H asked if we were ready. He was ready but Shawn was not. Shawn watched ECW last week but Triple H apparently did not. Footage was shown of The Dirt Sheet last week. Shawn said dressing people up to look like them had not been done since, well, last week. H corrected him and said someone did it in segment four.
Michaels said Triple H had a huge nose. H said the camera added ten pounds. Michaels asked how many cameras were on his nose. Michaels then said that what really made him mad was them making fun of his chaps. "You can mock my kids and punch my wife in the face, but you cannot make fun of the chaps."
H put up pictures of The Miz and Morrison from high school and said they looked like two kids that got their asses kicked in high school. H asked Michaels if he was finally ready and Michaels said he was. H asked Miz if he was ready. Footage was shown of Big thingy Johnson giving Miz a lap dance at No Mercy 2006. Finally, he said Miz and Morrison would finally be able to live as a married couple.
Before Michaels could tell us what we could do if we were not down with that, Morrison's music hit and the heel tandem came out to the ring.

4. Degeneration X defeated John Morrison and The Miz in 6:32. HBK hit the top rope elbow but before he could attempt Sweet Chin Music, a distraction by Morrison allowed Miz to closeline Michaels. They then double teamed him.
Michaels bounced around like a pinball for Miz and Morrison. Morrison tried the Moonlight Drive, but Michaels countered with an ensiguiri. H took the hot tag and obliterated everyone before Morrison hit the springboard shining wizard for a two count. Morrison nipped up and hit Sweet Chin Music. He did not cover Michaels and tagged in Miz instead. They crotched chopped Triple H.
Miz tried to hit the Pedigree but H countered it. Morrison charged at H but Michaels pulled down the top rope and sent him to the floor. Miz then took the SCM/Pedigree combination and DX celebrated the victory.
JBL and Shane McMahon stood backstage. JBL offered Shane his services as the new general manager. Shane said he would take it under consideration. He then booked JBL vs. The Undertaker for later in the show. JBL was not thrilled but did not look scared either.
King plugged the 16-diva match.

Footage of episode 243 was shown, where Mike Tyson was announced as the special enforcer of the main event of Wrestlemania XIV. Steve Austin said he wanted a piece of Mike Tyson's ass before flipping him off.
The heel divas stood in the ring. The face divas came out to Mickie's music. The face team only had seven divas. Mae Young came out.
5. Beth Phoenix pinned Mae Young to win a 16-diva tag match for her team in 1:33. Mae did most of the work for her team. Beth won the match with a rollup, prompting Santino to come out and celebrate. Mae took a weird bump but was fine and received an ovation after the match.
Footage was shown of The Undertaker defeating Chavo Guerrero in a casket match this past Friday night on Smackdown. Vickie Guerrero then granted Vladimir Kozlov a title shot at the Survivor Series if he defeats Taker on Friday.

6. C.M. Punk defeated Randy Orton by disqualification in 2:51. Punk started quickly but Orton quickly grounded him and hit those multiple stomps. Punk came back with multiple kicks, a corner knee, and bulldog attempt, but Orton countered it. As Orton went for the RKO, Ted DiBiase hit the ring and attacked Punk, prompting the referee to call for the bell.
As DiBiase mounted Punk, Orton punted DiBiase in the head. He then eyeballed Rhodes and Manu as he left the ring and the referees checked on DiBiase.

Rhodes and Manu approached Orton backstage. Orton put them over as being talented, but they needed some sense kicked into their heads just like he did to DiBiase. Orton challenged them to do something and they just stood there. Orton said they were smart and there might be hope for them yet.
Footage was shown of episode 772, where Floyd Mayweather and Big Show faced off before Wrestlemania last year.
Mike Adamle approached Stephanie McMahon backstage. Adamle said he quit because Stephanie second guessed every decision he ever made. He said motherhood did her very little good because she was an egomaniac. Steph stood up and said he was to blame for his inadequacies and wished him luck.
Shane entered and told Stephanie he had a huge announcement to make for the Survivor Series.

Footage of episode 475 was shown where Jeff Hardy challenged The Undertaker in a ladder match for the Undisputed Championship.
Jim Ross came out and joined Tazz at the announce booth.
7. The Undertaker defeated JBL by countout in 2:53. Footage was shown of Taker main eventing the first episode of Raw. JBL took the advantage early on with a big boot and several right hands. Taker came back with a snake eyes (that missed) and a big boot of his own for a two count.
Taker hit a chokeslam and did the throat slash gesture. He went for the Tombstone but JBL countered it. JBL hit a shoulder block but the collision caused him to fall to the floor. As JBL was about to reenter the ring, Taker sat up and JBL took the countout.
JBL looked happy with his decision but Shawn Michaels threw him to Taker, who promptly hit a Tombstone. Afterwards, Taker stared down Michaels before doing his post match posing.
Backstage, Chris Jericho asked Shane McMahon what his announcement was since he assumed it involved the World Heavyweight Championship and after tonight, that would be him. Shane gave up the secret and said the champion would defend his title at the Survivor Series against John Cena.

Footage aired of Steve Austin driving the beer truck into the arena and spraying The Rock and Vince McMahon.
Kung Fu Naki, Hornswoggle, The Boogey Man, Jesse and Festus, Jim Duggan, Sergeant Slaughter, Dusty Rhodes, and Goldust danced in the ring. Goldust kissed Cole. Ron Simmons came out to the stage and gave his line.
Episode 775 showed the retirement ceremony of the one and only Nature Boy, Ric Flair.

Footage was shown of episode 630, where Edge tried to marry Lita but Kane interrupted it.
After Kane, Mark Henry, and Rey Mysterio made their entrances, footage was shown of Evan Bourne getting injured last week. Kofi Kingston took Bourne's place in the match.
8. Kane and Mark Henry defeated Rey Mysterio and Kofi Kingston in 2:23. Kofi tried a frogsplash high crossbody, but Henry caught him and while Kane intercepted Rey, hit the World's Strongest Slam for the win.
The Great Khali and Ranjin Singh came down to the ring. As Kane went after Mysterio, Khali chopped Kane to the floor. He then attacked Henry and set him up for Rey to hit the 619. Khali then finished the job with a huge chop. Khali and Rey smiled at each other.

After plugging the cage match, a new video featuring John Cena aired. His early days as a rapper were profiled. Various stars, including JBL, Chris Jericho, and Vince McMahon put him over.
Backstage, Stephanie sat down next to Shane. Stephanie said she loved Shane's announcement but to keep the surprises to a minimum. Shane wished Vince could be there. Steph agreed that Vince would be proud to see how well they were doing.

9. Chris Jericho defeated Batista in a steel cage match to win the World Heavyweight Championship in 15:34. The bell rang nine minutes before the top of the hour. Jericho slapped Batista in the face. Batista whipped Jericho into the corner, who started climbing the cage. Batista was barely able to pull him back in but once he did, he hit a running powerslam. He then threw Jericho into the side of cage and Jericho took it without getting his hands up. Batista was dominating as the show went to its final commercial.

Back from the break, Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho, much to the delight of the fans. They cheered for him. With the door open, Batista kicked Jericho towards the opening. Jericho touched the floor with his hands but could not pull himself out.
Batista tried to mount Jericho in the corner and Jericho pulled the door into Batista's knee twice. Jericho brought Batista back into the ring and hit a series of kicks. Batista then hit a Blackhole Slam for a two count. He tried a spinebuster but his leg gave out and Jericho scored a two count.
Jericho tried the Codebreaker but Batista caught him and rammed him into the cage. Batista tried a spear but Jericho stepped out of the way. Batista nailed the cage. Jericho climbed over the cage but Batista caught him and pulled him back into the ring.
Batista tried the Batista Bomb but Jericho grabbed onto the cage and started climbing. Batista did the same. Jericho fell to the mat but Batista crotched himself on the ropes. Jericho climbed the cage again and Batista caught him and acted like he was going to hit a Batista Bomb. Jericho grabbed a steel hook from the cage and nearly knocked Batista out. Batista tried to pull Jericho back into the ring but Jericho fell to the floor to win the match.
After the match, Jericho walked to the back with his title as Batista lay slumped down in the ring.
