ECW 11th November 2008
Manchester, England
A video aired celebrating Veteran's Day and thanking all of those soldiers that fought in any war. The opening video aired and fireworks lit up the stage. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker welcomed us to the show. A video aired hyping the Matt Hardy vs. Finlay for the ECW Championship.
1. Jack Swagger, The Miz, and John Morrison defeated Cryme Tyme and Tommy Dreamer in 10:09. Swagger looked impressive working on Big Shad early in the bout. Shad cleared the ring of Swagger, Miz, and Morrison as the show went to its first commercial.

Morrison was in control of JTG coming back from the break. They exchanged multiple tags and continued to work over JTG. He was finally able to tag in Dreamer, who came in and took care of Miz and Morrison. He scored a nearfall with a pump handle suplex.
Swagger triumphed amongst chaos in the ring. He hit his finisher on Shad but Dreamer came through with a DDT on Swagger. He tried to hit a DDT on Morrison but Morrison countered with the Moonlight Drive for the win.
Matt Hardy cut a promo backstage saying Finlay would need all of the luck he could possibly find tonight. Video game footage aired showing Finlay vs. Hardy. Striker then plugged tonight's main event.

2. Mark Henry (with Tony Atlas) defeated Oliver Biney in 1:25. Henry squashed him and hit the World's Strongest Slam for the quick win.
Todd Grisham entered the ring and asked Henry who he thought would win the title match tonight. Henry breathed hard and angrily left the ring. Atlas followed suit but not before shaking his head at Grisham.
They put up a tale of the tape comparing Finlay and Hardy.

Finlay and Hornswoggle made their ring entrance with 24 minutes left in the show. Hardy came out soon after. Tony Chimmel handled the formal in ring introductions. Both men received nice ovations.
3. Matt Hardy defeated Finlay (with Hornswoggle) to retain the ECW Championship in 20:24. The early portion of the match was very slow as both men attempted to feel each other out. The pace remained slow as Finlay gained the advantage with some strong mat work. Hardy threw Finlay to the floor and Hornswoggle went underneath the ring.

Hardy hit the corner closeline/bulldog combination coming back from the break. Hardy went for the Twist of Fate but Finlay pushed Hardy into the corner. Hornswoggle was standing there and was knocked to the floor. Finlay checked on Hornswoggle and Hardy followed him.
Finlay took advantage and gained the upper hand in the match. Much of the match took place on the floor at this point. Hardy was able to apply some offense but Finlay quickly thwarted his attempts.

Back in the ring, Finlay continued to be on the offensive. Hardy hit a Side Effect for a nearfall. He hit a second one for a closer nearfall. Finlay applied a backslide for a very nearfall. The nearfalls continued as Finlay came close several times. Grisham incorrectly called the Celtic Cross but Striker corrected him.
Hardy slammed Finlay and hit a top rope moonsault for a two count. Finlay nearly won the match after covering Hardy after both me hit head to head. Seemingly out of nowhere, Hardy hit the Twist of Fate for the win.
Finlay got up quickly, shook Hardy's hand, and bowed to him in a nice show of respect. Hardy celebrated in the ring as Finlay looked on. They hugged as the show went off the air...
