WWE Smackdown 28th November 2008
ALBANY, N.Y
Prior to the show, we see a clip from Survivor Series where the Rated R Superstar, Edge returned only to become the new WWE Champion by pinning a downed Triple H.
We then cut straight to the ring where we see security surrounding the ring in which Vickie Guerrero is currently standing in.
She does her usual comments to generate the heat that she normally gets and then proudly introduces everyone to the new WWE Champion, Edge.
“You Think You Know Me!” and out comes Edge with his new look. He appears to be happier than ever.
Edge gets in the ring and eventually he hugs Vickie. Edge then states that he wasn’t completely ready to come back yet, but knew that he had to because we all know that Jeff Hardy has a history of letting people down, including GM Vickie Guerrero. SO, he came back for her.
Vickie thanked Edge and began to insult Jeff Hardy as the crowd continued to boo her.
Jeff Hardy, looking like The Joker, came out and tried rushing into the ring when suddenly the security guards held him back.
Triple soon followed, but the guards held him back as well.
In the mean time, Vladimir Koslov came slipped past security and went into the ring. He stated that he has come to take the WWE Title and will fight for it right now if he has to.
At this point, Vickie ordered everyone to calm down, because she is making 3 Beat the Clock Sprint matches where the person with the shortest time will face Edge at Armageddon for the Championship. Oh and by the way, Jeff Hardy is up first…
(Segment Rating: 4/5. Good to have Edge back!)

As the match continued, Jeff simply punished the younger kid even more with his new aggressive style. Back at 7:32, we see Kendrick in control with a wrench-like submission hold. Not long after however, Jeff reversed it into a small package for a near fall. Jeff sold the head injury as Kendrick regained control and locked in another rest hold. Jeff fought out and tied Kendrick in the Tree of Woe and hit his sitdown corner dropkick for two. Jeff teased the Twist of Fate but Kendrick pushed him off. Jeff hit the Whisper in the Wind instead. Kendrick placed his leg on the ropes at two and Zeke tried to check on him. Jeff then hit a baseball slide into Zeke that sent him crashing into the barricade. Jeff turns his attention to Kendrick and connects with a deadly powerbomb-like facebuster and eventually the Swanton Bomb for the win at 12:13!
Post-Match: We are shown replays as Jeff celebrates his win.

McCool got the hot tag and had a flurry of offense on Maryse. McCool covered but Victoria broke it up. McCool had another pin hooked in but the ref was distracted by Victoria and a twin fighting. McCool got the ref but turned into a Maryse clothesline. Maryse teased a DDT but McCool reversed into an arm bar. She held Maryse for the other twin but the twin hit McCool by mistake. Matt continued to play cat and mouse with Kozlov, grabbing the ropes and running from lockups and any knockdown. The ref showed Kozlov the clock and his eyes bugged out as he realized this was a timed exercise. He chased Matt until they made it back to the ring. Back, we see Jesse & Festus in the ring ready to fight. Their opponents are the same from last week, John Morrison and the Miz.
Match 4: Jesse & Festus v. John Morrison & The Miz
The Miz and Jesse appear to start things off. As the bell rings, Miz takes a cheap shot and gets the early lead against a dazed Jesse. He makes the tag to Morrison and the heels continue to pressure on the little man. Finally, after 3 minutes or so, Jesse got the hot tag to Festus as Miz got one to Morrison. Morrison was drove out of the ring and he went and rung the bell. As he made his way back to the ring, Jesse clotheslined him and got the bell. He rolled Morrison back in the ring and rung the bell. Post match: Miz and Morrison climbed in the ring with the bell. Miz got right in Festus’s face and Morrison rang the bell. Miz ran and just as Festus was about to catch him, he rang it again. Morrison laughed and Miz yanked the bell out of his hand and rung it. Festus chased Morrison and Miz rang it just before he caught Morriosn. Miz and Morrison seemed to argue for a second but then they moved Festus to the center of the ring. Miz stood behind him with his head down. Morrison rang the bell and as Festus came to life, Miz mocked him. Morrison quickly rang the bell and Festus and Miz went catatonic. This went on for a while until Miz and Morrison started fighting over the bell. Jess ran in but was knocked out by Morriosn with the bell. Miz had the hammer and dropped it on the bell. Unfortunately, Miz was too slow at stopping Festus and paid the price as Festus dominated.
